50MWe Standby Gas Plants - North East, England

TSL has been engaged to manage the build of two 50MWe standby gas plants using high efficiency technology. The TSL role is to assist the final development of the two 50MWe Blocks with the owner. The site is managed by TSL and has the CDM Construction Role. 

TSL manages HSE for the project on behalf of the owner. TSL is responsible for site quality control and providing the owner with documentation to operate and manage the project throughout the life of the plant.   

4MW Diesel Hybrid Power Station – Alderney, Channel Islands

TSL is working with Alderney Electricity Company, part of the States of Alderney in designing, building, commissioning and supporting the hybrid power station on the island.

TSL has been responsible for all aspects of the design/build and management of the contract.

  • 300MW Biomass Project – Tees Port, Teesside

    TSL worked for MGT Teesside in the role of Technical Director responsible for:

    • Establishing a safe site.
    • Recruit the Owners Engineer teams for technical and commercial management of the £600m
    • EPC contract.
    • Report to the Board on project progress
    • Manage the interface with PD Ports (Landlord)
    • Develop and install a backup power supply from the DNO (Northern Power Grid)
    • Act as Employers Representative and named in the EPC

    20MW Diesel Engine Project – Newark

    TSL worked for a privately funded company to design, build, commission and operate multiple STOR projects.

  • On and Off shore Wind Farms – Aberdeenshire & Lincolnshire

    TSL managed a joint venture on two offshore wind farms. Lynn & Inner Dowsing and a 24MW on shore wind farm in Aberdeenshire. The offshore wind farms had foundation problems.

    TSL were responsible for establishing a repair package for all 54 wind turbines. The main sub-contractors were:

    • Arup for design of the new support mechanism
    • Engie Fabricom for the installation off-shore

    TSL implemented an installation process that has been copied across the off-shore wind farm fleet of 3.6MW wind turbines.

    TSL was also responsible for implementing a new site O&M team that reduced the reliance on the OEM and improved the off-shore wind farm availability from 85-95%.

    2MW Syngas, Peterborough

    TSL were the senior engineering consultants and were responsible for:
